Remote Desktop Connection Manager

Hi guys,

I was looking for a portable RDP connection manager, but this seems difficult to get...

I use RDCman (Microsoft free tool) but would like to go portable with this.
Wonder if anyone knows if this tool can be made portable (I am not sure how it works license wise).

Or if you are aware of any other apps that does the job...

I read about remote desktop connection manager from Devolution. If you download the .zip binary files, you are able to run portable with a file path change... but the binary pack is only the enterprise version.. So you need license..
The standard does not require license but is only available as installer..

What about mRemote

Give mRemote a try, I think they have a portable version as well as a regular installer version. Its free and has way more features then RDman.exe

If it doesn't have to be RDP,

If it doesn't have to be RDP, then a good alternative would be Teamviewer Portable. It is a very good remote desktop application.

RDCman, since you say it's a Microsoft tool, probably has prohibitions about distributing the binary, but you can always make your own personal version of the portable app as long as you don't try to distribute it. Something similar can be said for Devolution. If you use a tool like Regshot to see what files and registry items are changed by the installer.

I hope this helps.

Thank darksabre76 Teamviewer

Thank darksabre76

Teamviewer is a great tool but I am looking for something that manages my actual connections. So it has to be RDP. I already have a list of connection Iwork with. I just need them to be around me anytime.
Thanks

Re: portable version

Indeed, try other tools for virtualization. I agree with Basylio. You may need change our approach ...

Resolved: Forgot to leave feedback

Hi all,
just noticed I forgot to leave feedback on this.

I manage to resolve it by downloading portable version of Remote Desktop Connection Manager from Devolutions. They provide the binaries.

This is not FREE. They offer the free trial of the Enterprise version for 30days, then if you do not want to purchase the client will lock down to standard version. Which still is very good as database. Alot of enhenced features become disabled. True..

Plus, it will start using your mstsc to launch RDP, instead of the inbuilt client (this applies for new added connections after license expiration).

Rgds
