HI,
I am looking for a couple of applications that I can copy to a pendrive and will run under Linux, especially UBUNTU 9.10.
I would like use a light word processing package that supports docs, and a video package that supports the common formats.
I have tried to locate these packages, but the only ones that I have found will not run.

We don't really deal in Linux applications, we are primarily about portable applications for Windows.
However the PortableApps Launcher (which makes most of our applications actually portable) runs perfectly well in Wine (a Windows emulator for Linux), so if the base app works on Wine our portable package of it would work equally well across both Windows and Linux computers.
Unfortunately we do not keep any kind of record of what does and doesn't work on Wine, so you would have to figure it out purely by trial and error.
