When I click on a xyz.paf.exe file nothing happens
I can only see via Task Manager/process
that the process xyz.paf.exe is started and
even when I have choosed end task, I can't delete
the downloaded xyz.paf.exe file.
Only when I restart the laptop then I can delete it.
Is there a work arround so that the apps *.paf.exe are running
under the desktop interface of Window8 Pro .
Thanks
Whether you have installed PortableApps.com Platform?
If not, then you have to go there and download Platform Setup 'PortableApps.com_Platform_Setup_11.2.exe'.
This Platform is required to run '*.paf.exe' files.
If you want to install portable application directly to a desktop, you need to create a folder (for example named: PortableApps.com) and install Platform there. Approximately: C:\PortableApps.com
Then run and install there the downloaded setup 'PortableApps.com_Platform_Setup_11.2.exe'.
Now run Platform file 'Start.exe'. If needed, you can create desktop shortcut to this EXE file.
In Platform Menu click on 'Apps' button and go to option 'Install a New App'. Find, select and install your 'xxx.paf.exe'.
The Platform is not required to run our packages.

Aluísio, you are right. '*.paf.exe' can run on Windows.
And ricy! Sorry for the wrong information.
Which apps did you try?
I am running Windows 8 Pro too, and have not problems at all.

@ Aluísio
it happens with different Paf.exe apps
for example when I try to run DamnVidPortable_1.6.0.paf.exe
then it does nothing
In W8 Task mannager I see its process is running
when I end the process tree, then I can delete DamnVidPortable_1.6.0.paf.exe
if I either choose end task then I can not delete it, but this is not a big problem, the problem is that when I run it that it do nothing !
@ Aluísio
are you also using Norton Internet Security ?
Does it say that it can't delete that it is running or that there is file size 0 and not really there?
Don't be an uberPr∅. They are stinky.
