I love Toucan. I prefer it over synctoys, freefilesync, and all the others out there.
So when I set it up on my new Windows 8 pro 64bit laptop, I was disappointed to discover that when I close the program, it ALWAYS, without exception, throws an error: "toucan.exe has stopped working". If I click the "Close program" button, it closes fine. All syncs and backups work great, but toucan will not close properly.
This also occurs if I use toucan from the command line.
Has anyone experienced this? Have you found any work arounds?
Thanks.
I have Windows 7, 64-bit. This same error happens for me as well, every single time. And when run in Compatibility mode for XP SP 3, or Run as Administrator.
I'm wondering how to fix this...
Haven't tried it on Win8 yet, but it works absolutely fine for me on Win7 x64. What does the appcrash detail window show you, usually it has an exception number and so on? Give the latest Dev Test version a try if you wish, I haven't fixed this bug specifically, but it's recompiled with newer versions of libraries and that may have fixed it.
As this was happening to me with (FreeCommander - free file manager for windows has stopped working) every time closing the program, I searched in developers forum and found a solution: http://www.forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4211&view=previou... . The cause for that annoying "has stopped working" is dual graphic hardware on some PCs/laptops.
