???????????????

It was going to be sometime in Jan.
As you may be aware it is now March.

Weekly Updates?

Even the promised weekly updates never seem to come. Glad you took my advice about not holding your breath.

He's read it.

He's probably read the thread but hasn't thought of an excuse yet.

Soon

It will be ready in the near future when it is solid enough for beta release. The internal build has a re-written updater which solves the issue with collisions between the auto-update and manually checking for updates, gets update checks down from around 11 seconds to under 1 seconds due to a rewritten app existence check, decreases update database download bandwidth by adding a zipped download as well as caching the database between uses so it only uses 43 bytes to check, has the search box always visible, and adds rudimentary support for SSH proxies via CURL.

As stated previously, I have been otherwise occupied with working as PortableApps.com is still a money-losing venture. As such, I am paying for the privilege of working on the platform, keeping the website up and updating all the apps out of my own pocket.

hahahaha

"PortableApps.com is still a money-losing venture."

Most free things are. Kinda by definition.

Change the business model to $1/app download and/or $1/app update. Wink

Open Source

Open Source businesses are a tough thing as you cant really just charge people and keep thing open sourced. One of the posibilities is to create enough revenue in donations or only work part time on open source stuff and make money the rest of the day.
