That is a false positive. Upload the quarantined file to virustotal.com and see their results, including symantec's.
Then, submit the false positive to symantec so they can fix their database: https://submit.symantec.com/false_positive/
ya there seem to be alot of them around
it seems that antivirus companies are getting lazy because i had one incident when google Chrome was getting virus notification from MSE on win xp and win 7
so naturally i complained to microsoft and they updated their databases but couldn't give me any explination as to why it was giving me a error
but haven't had a problem since
just notify Norton of the false positive and expect a virus definition update a.s.a.p
and don't worry some programs may give false positive virus notifications but that is why they are updated so often as to fix them
so just scan with both normal antivirus and virustotal to get a better picture and any false positives should and in most cases if not all must be reported to the av company for fixing
well hope this helped clear the air
i'm not wierd, i'm just different
