Performance question/problem

Hi,

Portable apps use more memory than normal installed app. I notice that the memory usage is getting worse if the app is need more resources. For example:

-When I use the Notepad++ as portable or installed version, the memory usage is too small.(let's say that Notepad++ is a small project)

-But when I use LibreOffice the difference is about 100-150 MB.libreoffice is bigger project-use more resources)

-Now it is the first time I try a portable game: AssaultCube. The game starts properly, but I can not play even with worst graphic modes.

My computer is fine. I have 4GB Ram, Windows 8(is supporting officially by AssaultCube), core i7 cpu, 64bit, 300 GB Free disk space.

Drive?

Where did you install the apps?
From what you wrote it looks like you installed them to a slow usb drive.
Are they equally slow when installed on your local hard drive?

I install them to my HDD

I install them to my HDD which is also Windows installed there.

İntsall libreoffice and portable libreoffice on the same drive. Start both of them (not at the same time) and see the memory usage.
