Greetings,
a few days ago I did a virus scan (with ClamWin Portable) of a WinXP box with JKDefrag (non portable apps) installed - it came up with a virus, so I scanned my portable apps usb containing JKDefrag Portable and it also came up with a virus - about a half hour ago I downloaded the latest version of JKDefrag and got
C:\Download\Install\PA_2013_Q1\JkDefragPortable_3.36_Rev_2.paf.exe: Win.Trojan.Autoit-350 FOUND
via ClamWin.
The last time I downloaded JKDefrag I used the Hash program to verify the download and (since then) even the downloaded program was infected, this time I'm not game to run the Hash prgram in case I get cross infection.
So far both WinXP boxes with non Portable JKDefrag and three USB with Portable JKDefrag have come up with similarly numbered virus
Is the problem at my end, or at Portableapps end?
Thanks for taking the time to review this.
That's a false positive due to the fact that JkDefrag's GUI is written in AutoIT. It's the reason we have banned any additional AutoIT-based apps on PortableApps.com. The language is used frequently for malware, so even legitimate EXEs will be flagged by antivirus engines.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Why do all always have to pay for the mistakes of a few?

i have a few apps i had wanted on the platform but they are also by some wierd cuincidence also written in autoit
so be careful but hopefully most will be false positives and in this case u r fine it is a false positive because of autoit programming
i'm not wierd, i'm just different
