Odd behaviour - inbox messages open as "compose"

Hi,

Since yesterday, whenever I double click to open a message in inbox it opens a "compose" window similar (but not quite) to the one you would get if you selected "reply".

If I right click on the message in inbox and select "open message in new folder" it behaves normally. Other folders seem OK, this is only a problem with inbox.

I've installed a new version of Thunderbird portable and copied my profile to it, no change so it appears to be a problem embedded in my profile.

I've emptied the inbox and deleted the inbox and inbox.msf files, no change.

Any ideas?

best
Chris

For the time being

Try Options » Advanced » Config Editor... and look for anything bold which is not an extension.

What you said back in November

Hi Ryan, Your comment about my inbox problem is too enigmatic for my ancient brain. What do I do with the bold entries? I managed to fix this problem last time but I've no idea how. Now it has recurred and I really don't know what to do.

Reset

Right-click and reset
However, check the name of the entry first, as it might be a setting you wish to keep.
Alternatively, post all bolded entries here and we will help you.
