GIMP: Virus detections from AVG, TrendMicro and VBA32

Hey there,

Recently my AVG scanner claimed that a few files from gimp portable (version 2.8.4) where malware.

The claimed infections are:

gimp.pyd.debug
gimpcolour.pyd.debug
gimpthumb.pyd.debug
_gimpenums.pyd.debug
_gimpui.pyd.debug

These files can be found in:
App/gimp/lib/gimp/2.0/python/

I scanned these files in virustotal.com and two more vendors claimed they are malware (VBA32 and Trend Micro).

I have already notified VBA32 and AVG about these being false positives and sent them samples so that they can be analyzed. Unfortunately I was not able to notify TrendMicro as their submission process apparently requires that you own their software.

I am pretty sure these are false positives, but I thought that it would be nice to let the developers know, as this might scare off some users.

Cheers!
