Suddenly after using chrome portable for the past two years, I am not able to open chrome portable. When I click on the .exe file nothing happens.
I tried deleting chrome portable and reloading it with same result. The app does not open regardless of whether I attempt to open it from the portable apps platform or directly from the googlechromeportable. exe file itself.
I have tried installing the portable app to both a usb stick or directly to a windows XP computer and I get the same result....the app will not load and not open.
I was able to install and open Gimp and Mozilla Firefox both to the computer and usb stick without any problems.
I would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks in advance

What happens when you try to run it? Does the splash screen load?
Also, what is your exact setup? Full path, etc.
Finally, are you trying to run chrome in a school/work environment? There have been cases of it being blocked by administrators in the past.
when I try to run it I do not get the splash screen to load....nothing happens
Exact set up is a hp 6910 laptop with xp sp3.
It is a work environment....so that is possible.....but I would think firefox portable or Gimp portable would not run as a portable app either if it is the work envirnment thing...
what other specific information can I give you that might help?
Searching the internet.....I am not the first to report this type of issue with chrome portable..
