SourceForge Download Links giving 404 Errors

Every time I try to download an app from the page for that app, and the download link goes to SourceForge, it gives me a 404 error. I have to go to Sourceforge manually to the Portable Apps folder to find the download I want.

Any clue as to why?

All Working

They're all working for me. You happen to disable JavaScript? Also, which apps specifically?

sf not reachable in some countries

Same error here - travelling around I had this connection problem from some european countries, but not if I use a proxy / server in USA.

You might test if sourceforge.net is working at all in your webbrowser. If you see problems, try to contact their support and ask if they have an idea why their service is not available from their place. If they are not actively blocking your country, then ask your provider if sourceforge traffic is allowed.

I do not remember ever having read that sourceforge is an usa-only service, but maybe some local internet providers are blocking their servers for some reasons.

However, it is very annoying to have this single source for updates - reyling on sf.net as mirrored distribution network does not work, there should be at least a google mirror.

Works Worldwide Except Prohibited

The 19 SourceForge download mirrors are available worldwide except Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria as these countries are on the U.S. 'Foreign Assets Control sanction list' as distribution of software with encryption technology (all browsers, all ftp clients, all chat clients, all office suites that support encrypted documents, etc) from the US to these countries is illegal.

If a specific SourceForge mirror is malfunctioning, please let us or SourceForge know. It can happen occasionally and often with only specific files. When a given mirror doesn't work right often enough, we've had SourceForge remove it from rotation. You can check if it is a mirror issue by opening your browser.

Using Google Code for distribution is impossible. They do not accept projects that use multiple open source licenses and, like many Google properties of late, binary downloads have been discontinued across Google Code, meaning it will be Github-style code only (no compiled EXEs, installers, etc).
