Synkron portable leaving data

I am not sure if this might be some setting problem, but the Synkron Portable produces some kind of folder called ~Data and this is full of temp files produced during the sync/copy of the files.

Is this known?

Where?

Where is it creating said folder?

ok now more accurate

So now I am at home and can provide more accurate details.

The synkron is run in this case from data partition on my hard drive. It is just copied there, so the folder is called apps.

On the root of the same drive it is creating on each run some temp folder. If deleted, it is crated next time again. Subfolders with date and time of synch.

Past Uses

Did you previously use it on the same PC that you had your TEMP directory on, say a C drive? If so, that could have triggered it to think you'd manually defined a custom portable TEMP instead of the system TEMP. It's a semi-feature of the launcher to allow a custom TEMP on your portable drive. But if it was previously on C:, it would have taken it from what your actual TEMP was on the local PC (C:\Documents and settings\etc).

not sure

not sure, but it could be, as on some old machines under XP I used to have temp/tem and mydocumets and lot of other variables not in the default position.

But I am not sure if I ever run it on such machine.

Under data\settings Synkron.ini does indeed contain:

temp_path=E:/DOKUME~1/otto/LOKALE~1/Temp/SynkronPortableTemp

well fine, but where should it be otherwise and should it not be cleaned on exit?

however, now I checked my original version on my usb stick, there is in the synkron.ini :

temp_path=C:/DOKUME~1/otto/LOKALE~1/Temp/SynkronPortableTemp

also strange, as such would be more less the normal place on things like w98 or maybe also w2k, both not quite passed away in my case Wink
