WackGet Portable 1.2.4 Rev 2 has been released. WackGet is a simple download manager with queue, clipboard paste, queue saving and proxy support. This update improves portability. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Features

WackGet is a simple, lightweight download manager. It has a queue of files to download to the directory you select. The directory is made portable by the included PortableApps.com Launcher. It has support for pasting URLs in from the clipboard as well as loading and saving download queues. Manual proxy support is also included.

WackGet's original developer, MillWeed, is no longer online. trog and Mammoth Media contributed to getting it working on Windows Vista, 7 and 8. PortableApps.com updated the GUI for modern Windows and made it portable.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

WackGet Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.
