Hi,

I used Notepad++ Portable downloaded from https://portableapps.com/apps/development/notepadpp_portable. My Windows language is Portuguese (Brazil), but when I launch Notepad++ Portable, interface language is English!!!

If I want to make Notepad++ Portable can switching language to Portuguese (Brazil), what should I do?

Anyone help me, please! Thank you very much!

Platform

Are you using the PortableApps.com Platform? If so, go to Options, then language.

You have two options. Either uncheck the "Use this language for all portable apps" option, which should allow you to change the language to Brazilian Portuguese.

Alternatively, you can leave that option checked, and simply change the language to PortugueseBrazilian.

If you aren't using the platform, you should be able to change the language right in Notepad++ and it should be kept.

Uncheck but it don't work

Hi,

Thank you for your support! When I uncheck the "Use this language for all portable apps" option, click Ok and run Notepad++ Portable on Platform, interface of it is still English!!!

I have a question, I know Platform use Language variables to find Windows language. But I use ProcessHacker to view Language variables of Platform, I see value of variables are English? While Windows language is Portuguese (Brazil)? I wonder language variables is wrong? Or it don't work!

I hope your answer from you or anyone! Thanks!

platform language

The Platform need to be Portuguese or Portuguese (Brazil) in order for Apps like notepad to adopt the language.

You can change tha language under options-language.

Change language automatically!

Thank you for your good support! When I chose my language under options, it worked!

So Platform can't change language automatically? Suppose I change Windows language and restart Platform, it can change language without I have to interfere to Options?

I wonder language variable: %PortableApps.comLocaleName% in Notepad++Portable.ini (Notepad++Portable\App\AppInfo\Launcher), which variable does it receive value? When I don't use Platform, just run Notepad++ Portable alone?

Please help me! Have a nice day!

Independent

The Platform is independent of your Windows language by design. That way, you can have the platform set however you want and it will be in your preferred language regardless of what computer you use.

I see

Thank you, I see. I hope platform can interact with Windows language automatically! If Platform can do that, it will be wonderful!

Nope

It's by design. It should NOT get the language from Windows. People move around and want it in their native language regardless of what the base OS is. You install the platform in whatever language you choose.

Idea!

My opinion, if Platform have options to change language automatically, it will be nice! I think so, Platform become intelligent! Smile

I search about getting the language from Windows, I see that this plugin can do that!

Thank you for your support! I appreciated that!

No

As stated a couple of times, the platform *purposely* does not change languages with Windows. This is by design. When the user installs the platform, they select the language they want the platform to be in and it remains in that language even when they travel and go and use a Windows PC in a language other than their own. There is no reason to have the platform detect the language of Windows and switch. Please stop requesting it over and over without reading what I have written and understanding it.

I see!

Yes. Sorry about my opinion. I want to understand about Language in Platform so sometimes I have some bad questions. I'm really sorry if my question make you feel angry. Thank you for your support.
