In the "Set Default Programs" window of the OS Windows 7 or 8 appears on the left a list of programs. Do anyone know, how I can remove a program from this list?

No, but Google does.
After reading this very interesting article I looked in the registry key HKLM\Software\RegisteredApplications, but I can't find an appropriate entry for the program which I'm looking for. I searched after the Firefox browser. But let me briefly explain how the corresponding entry came into the "Set Default Programs" window.
Actually, I do not have the Firefox browser installed on my Windows 8 computer. Instead, I use the portable version of Firefox in PA.com menu. As described in another created comment with the subject "Alterations in the settings of Firefox" by me, I have performed the steps 1 - 4. Nothing more I have done. But now appears the Firefox icon in the program list of the "Set Default Programs" window. Unfortunately I can't find an appropriate entry in the registry key HKLM\Software\RegisteredApplications with respect to the Firefox program.
I am pretty sure there are other places where windows stores that info. At least thats what it was back in XP.
