Hi, I removed the PortableApps.com desktop icon, but it returns at a new session. How can I keep that icon away from my desktop ?

PA.c doesn't install or create a desktop icon.
If you're referring to the taskbar icon shown in Windows 7 and up, that's by design as the system tray has basically been deprecated (icons are hidden by default). You can switch it off using an INI change: https://portableapps.com/support/portable_apps_suite#disablewin7taskbar
Note that the platform must not be running when you make this changed.

I'm not kidding, the PA.c icon reappears on the desktop after every boot. It's on a new PC in my volunteerswork office. That PC is running on Windows 8.
But reading your answer I'm convinced the cause must be something else, so I'll have to contact the IT-person that installed the PC.

If it's on an external drive (even if always connected) and your PC has an add-on or program to place an icon for the drive on the desktop, then that's what will happen. But that's outside of our control, of course.
