One of the bugaboos nuts like me, who overload their computers with a lot of programs, run into is the over demand/utilization of system resources.
When not running a portable app does it eat into the system resources or only use resources when actually being used?
When creating something to be used in other programs, that might not be available in a portable form, how is that data preserved to be available to the more classical programs?

looks like 2 questions here as for #1 if the portable app is not launched then there are no associated processes for that app.
