I followed the instructions here, which state
#1 Download the free Shockwave Player from the Macromedia website
#2 Run the installation routine and, instead of letting it install to a local browser, select to choose your browser
Trouble is, when I installed shockwave, it never offers this option. The only input it allows the user is whether to install google toolbar. After it's finished installing, my IE pops up automatically, I have no control over it. I never get the option to install to, or use, FFportable at any time.
Any idea how to get the instructions to work?

I have had success with opening FFP and running the installer while it is open. I have also had to run it several times in some instances.
