Bookmarks toolbar and Accepting ULA

I just downloaded portable firefox 2,
I just copied my prefs.js to apps\defaultdata\profile and my other settings have saved (etc. always show tab bar) but the bookmark toolbar is still enabled and I want to get rid of it permanently. I also copied all other files into same directory and it still shows that bleeping toolbar.
Slso stop asking for accepting the ula if possible.

Whole profile

Generally, you need to copy in your whole profile (not just your prefs.js) or things can get a bit messed up. Your prefs.js may even be a bit unusable now as a result.

The EULA should only come up once and then save the fact that you agreed within the FirefoxPortable\Data\Settings folder. There should be a FirefoxPortableSettings.ini in there with an AgreedToLicense option set. Is there?

I have gotten the ula to

I have gotten the ula to stop prompting but the issue with bookmarks toolbar still exists. what seems to be happening is the copy on my u3 drive is interfering with one located on my computer. eg. I will set toolbar and close... when I re-open the settings are ok the first time, but if I open up firefox (hard drive) or close firefox from usb drive and re-open (usb) then the toolbar is back. i've tried settings in same firefoxportablesettings.ini but I'm not getting any luck.
can someone who has overcome this give me a little help

Ok, start again

I just re-read your original post and it looks like you messed things up initially. The FirefoxPortable\App\DefaultData folder is just for that... DEFAULT data... not your data. That's why there's a readme.txt file in the App folder that says you don't normally need to touch anything in any of those folders.

As for copying your profile in, start with a FRESH copy of Firefox Portable. You've already messed your current one up. Please re-read the clear instructions here:
https://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable#local_profile

Follow them to the letter. Don't add any steps. Don't touch DefaultData.

thank you

after reviewing the information again I was able to save my settings, extensions and toolbars.. thank you!

however, when someone deletes apps/settings/firefox.....ini the ula will continue to prompt.. WHICH I CAN LIVE WITH. but was wondering if someone can find another way to stop prompting. I've added the switch inside that peticular .ini to others found in default and firefoxsource and then deleted from apps/settings but still prompting for ula.. i've also kept the file, deleted line that says lastdir= but of course ula prompted me... Like I said I can live with it if my settings are saved but does anybody know another way to stop?

Please follow the directions...

Once again, you're not supposed to be touching anything within DefaultData. If you do, you're gonna mess things up. You're only supposed to delete the file FirefoxPortableSettings.ini when you *INITIALLY* copy your profile in from your local PC. You should NOT be doing this at ANY OTHER TIME. Firefox Portable uses that file to keep track of the fact that you agreed to the EULA. If you want to use a sync program to copy your local profile into FFP that doesn't understand FFP, you should use the DisableIntelligentStart=true options in the INI. The ini file is fully explained in a file linked from help.html.

Please stop deleting and editing things at random and then asking why it doesn't work right.

First I never said was

First I never said was changing any more of my profile. I was thanking you because the method link you posted worked file.

Secondly the only changes I made were to "FirefoxPortableSettings.ini" files, first I changed the one in "FirefoxPortable\Data\settings" to only have statement "AgreedToLicense=YES" and removed "LastProfileDirectory=" statement. Then I tried to move that statement or switch if you prefer to other "FirefoxPortableSettings.ini".
Which was a little clowning around I admit but wasn't that serious since I already saved a copy of my portable firefox to my zip drive.

What I was asking is if you use firefox in a read only filesystem (like a cd or my case a sfv archive), how can you remove the ula without having "FirefoxPortableSettings.ini" in "FirefoxPortable\Data\settings"??
The method used https://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable#local_profile (below local profile a bit) titled "Running From a CD (Firefox Portable Live)" does not seem to work. and because I have to create the "FirefoxPortableSettings.ini" in "FirefoxPortable\Data\settings" to remove ula I'm kind of screwed.. unless someone has another method.

Use it as is

And run it at least once before you copy it to CD. FirefoxPortableSettings.ini should not be manually edited. At all. Even if you're using live mode. The launcher handles all CD-related stuff after you've run it at least once. The launcher doesn't care what's in LastProfileDirectory when used in live mode. So, once again, please simply follow the directions and it will work.

Note that at the moment, you can not distribute Firefox Portable in live mode or with any modifications. You can only redistribute the installer binary.
