I often use the browser feature that lets me Open Link in New Tab or Open Link in New Window by right clicking on a link and selecting one of those options. Seems to work fine for non-portable versions of browsers including Firefox. However, am unable to get it to work with Firefoxportable. Tried changing some of the Options and still no luck getting it working. Is there a specific setting I need to change or is there a work-around to get this to work properly with the portable version of Firefox? Thanks.
What version of FF are you using? I'm running FF 25 Portable (from here) and I can right-click any link and get those options. I can confirm its working for WinXP (work computer) but I can try w/ Win7 when I get home to double check.
I haven't seen any setting that modify the right-click function. Well at least not within the FF options dialogue boxes. The only way(that I know of) that can happen is if java-script on the page was blocking it.
Have you tried to run it on another computer to see if it gives you the same issue? Also try and disable any extensions/addons you have installed. It might be one of them that could be messing w/ it.
I tried the most recent versions of FirefoxPortable and all of them seem to be able to do that properly. Since yours isn't for some reason, there is a way to do it using the keyboard. If you hold Ctrl when you click a link, it'll open the link in a new tab. I hope this helps.
this page from the Firefox Support Forum might help

at a guess, it might be due to an Add-on?
If starting in safe mode (all add-ons disabled etc) doesn't work, you could try doing a clean install of FireFoxPortable (in a separate folder) and see if Open Link in New Tab or Open Link in New Window by right clicking on a link works.
Thanks for all the tips. Hitting Ctrl when clicking does work. When I disable firebug, right clicking works properly again too. Appreciate the help.
