No version 17.0.10 of Mozilla Firefox ESR, portable edition?

Hi,

why there is no version 17.0.10 of Mozilla Firefox ESR, portable edition?

Whereas an installable ESR Version 17.0.10 exists:

https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-17.0.10esr

Also, in the past the same versions of Firefox and Thunderbird ESR portable edition where always published almost at once.

But this time (Oct 30, 2013) at portableapps.com:

https://portableapps.com/news?page=2

Oct 30, 2013 Mozilla Thunderbird ESR, Portable Edition 17.0.10 (email...
Oct 30, 2013 Mozilla Firefox ESR, Portable Edition 24.1 (web browser)...

Thanks

Explained Here

The ESR policy is fully explained here: https://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable#esr

We only support a single ESR release at a time. So, we split the difference during the overlap of two versions (17 and 24 in this case) and switch from one to the other 6 weeks after release (in conjunction with 25.0 stable at which point ESR is moved to 24 and 17 is dropped). If you want to use 17.0, grab the last one and let it update to the latest 17.0.x. Keep in mind that 17.0 is dropped entirely by Mozilla in 25 days.

Portable V17.0.9 ESR updated to V17.0.11

My Portable V17.0.9 ESR updated to V17.0.11

The about says that I am on the esr Channel, but nowhere can I find a Firefox Portable v17.0.11 ESR

What am I using, & more importantly, where did it come from?

If it is legit, then where can I download Firefox Portable v17.0.11 ESR so if something corrupts, & I want to start off fresh, where can I get it to facilitate my needs?

If it isn't legit, I will delete this new portable v17.0.11 ESR & reinstall Portable v17.0.09 ESR?

Please advise, for I don't want anything leaning to the "New" order of FireFox Browsers AKA Australis or ChromeCrap.

Thanks very much for your time & consideration.

PS......if Mozilla is insistant with the Chrome direction via Australis, I fear this very well may be my final(yes, I swear on my children) my final version of FireFox...in any manner or form....period.

Updated Itself, Alternatives

Firefox's built-in updater works portably. So it updated itself. We don't make any additional releases of Firefox ESR 17.x for the reasons stated above. 17.x is abandoned shortly.

As for Firefox's UI direction, we have nothing to do with that, so saying so here doesn't affect things one way or another. I've tried Australis in the Firefox Portable Nightly and it's a solid feel and really peppy. If you plan on abandoning Firefox over the interface, you don't really have an alternative other than IE. Opera looks like Chrome now.

Just so you know

there is an addon which you can use to get rid of the australis UI design and restore the old look. So before you abandon firefox, you could give it a try.

I'm quite content to 'mote

I'm quite content to 'mote out' in my FireFox Portable v17.0.9 ESR until it no longer functions. Until I need new innovations, I have no use for new user innovations merely for innovation sake.

Thanks Simeon, but addons & extensions to achieve that end is a slippery slope to the outer circles of hell, so I'll pass on that, but thanks again.

John, you have to work with whatever flavor of FireFox you are given, & I know you have nothing to do with Mozilla's design direction.

So, sorry for the rant, but sometimes my user frustrations can't always be kept in check.
