Skype upgrade may have a bug

I am using XP SP3, on an AD setup as an Admin, P4, 2GB ram, 2 vid cards (NVIDIA GeForce 8400). I upgraded Skype to the current version via the app upgrade and when i relaunched it, it took 14 minutes to get logged in. I am not the only one this has happened to. On the same type of systems, other people were having the exact same issue. Very slow to load and it looks like there are "page loading" issues like the kind where you would like to clear the cookies and cache to force a reload. I backed off the new version and installed the older version and it worked fine.

Skype version 6.10.0.104.

Working but Bug

I just fired up the Skype Portable 6.10.0.104 on Windows XP SP3 and it logged in right away for me here. I did notice an issue with the login screen not showing the Skype imagery which will have to be fixed (just the words and a missing image icon where the Skye should be) but it didn't otherwise affect functionality.

Microsoft has been tweaking Skype with each point release so there could be something up here.

Have you tried a fresh install of 6.10.0.104 to see if its a configuration issue? What did you mean by an AD setup? What path have you installed to?

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
