I came here to get a portable Chrome, but all of the many download buttons only download an installer, not a portable app. Installers "install", which is the thing to avoid by having a portable app. If it installs, it's not portable.
Granted there might have been a real download button buried in all of the installer download buttons, but if it exist, I could not find it.

The vast majority of 'zip' portable apps are not portable (many aren't even partially portable). And upgrading on zip version to another is a nightmare for larger real apps.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
