Second life viewer?

Second Life is a very popular 3D MMORPG that also serves as a chatroom, complex minecraft-sort game. It's got to be open-source, as there are a ton of alternate viewers developed by third-party companies. I hear that it has been portable-ized by others, I can't find any recent or stable versions.
