Installation of Appl. / Files with Extension *.paf.exe / Which XAMPP version / Forum search

Hello,

today I started with using PortableApps and installed it on an external HDD.
All it works and it's brillant. Thanks for it. Smile

Now I have some questions, for them I don't found answers on this Website and Forum.

1. In which folder I should install additional application general? Maybe into subdirectory .\PortableApps\PortableApps\{app dir} of my portableApps installation, isn't it?

2. Where I could find application files with extension -> .paf.exe?

3. Which version of XAMPP I should use and how to I install it? I know that's existing 2 versions for Windows -> XAMPP for Windows and -> XAMPP Lite. Earlier I could install XAMPP Lite on external drives only and not XAMPP for Windows. Was it changed and could I install XAMPP for Windows of external drives today too?

4. Exists a search in this forum? It's needed many times to search an answer of my question when I must open all postings. Sad

So that's all. Smile

I hope, I get all answers of my questions.

Thank you all in advance.

With kind regards from Germany

1:
Without the PortableAppsMenu (PAM), you can "install" (copy would be more appropriate)the apps in any folder you like. But if you want your Apps to show up in the PAM, you have to "install" them in the same folder your PortableAppsMenu folder is located. Otherwise thy wont appear in your menu.
2:
There aren't so many Apps with PAF compatibility yet. You'll have to wait for more.
4:
Right at the top of the page, there is a search-button.

Kind regards from Swizerland to Germany. Wink

To my knowledge...

the only sites offering programs that are explicitly PAF compatible are this one and mine (OTBSoft) although a few of the others may have started...
