Hi!
A little warning regarding GPU-Z, it is not safe.
When I started it, it completely locks up my machine.
Have to kill power, then the following cycle happens:
1. Push power button, PC switches on for 3-4 seconds, and then switches off.
2. 2-3 seconds after that it switches on and displays an error "Press F1 to enter UEFI setup".
3. Presses F1, UEFI setup is OK so I choose "Discard changes and Exit".
4. The PC resumes normal boot.
This is on a system with dual Nvidia GTX690, driver version 335.23 and Windows 8.1 Update, 64-bit.

I think it is more likely incompatible hardware / settings that are the problem.
Becuse 1) a small program that reports what windows already knows should not 'kill' your computer.
2) I have been using GPU-Z for a while now, and the few times things even similar to what you have described has been traced to incompatible hardware / settings.
3) I am using GPU-Z right now and have no problems.
My system is Intel CORE i3 (cpu), 4 GB single DDR3 (ram), 4GB swap file(virtual memory), Intel HD Graphics 3000, on Windows 8.0 64-bit
So my $10 000 custom built (not by me, by a vendor) workstation with Gainward Nvidia cards, ASUS motherboard, Intel CPU, Corsair Dominator memory and Corsair SSD Force disks is at fault, not a free little program that when given admin rights stops it cold?
In other words, a program designed to report system information killing said system, its the systems fault, not the program?
A very strange reasoning indeed.
Anyway, my point was to give people a heads up to be careful....
