i recently came a cross a mercury p4 board. i asssmbled it ,with sp 3 running. i installed vlc 1.1.4 and it neared completion than brot an error. and amiaizlngly finished installin. but then wont start when i click on the desktop vlc button ...any advice on this matter ..

If you tried the portable version, I'd suggest trying the local version first. Just to see if the base app works. I don't know what if anything works on an old board like that.
