Using Portable Firefox without incident until tonight. Windows 7 PC. Suddenly, PortFirefox cannot connect to any webpage - exactly as if Internet connection is gone. But it is not. All other computer programs are working/connecting, and non-portable (pc desktop) version of Firefox connects just fine. I back out to platform level and ask Portable Apps to look for updates -- it cannot find internet either. A window pops up to report:
"Unable to connect to PortableApps.com to retrieve portable apps. Please try again later. [SendRequest Error]
I reformat USB stick, download PA again, and reinstall. That fails at the point where the new platform tries to "phone home" on the internet also.
Anyone have any ideas?

Check your Antivirus logs and/or Firewall logs.
Ed
Can IE connect to the internet? The platform uses the Windows internet connection components which are also used by IE. Did you install a new Firewall?
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thank you and Ed P. It seems that it was something like that. I shut off MalwareBytes and the problem went away. I guess a recent update prevented the USB stick from browsing.
