ClamWin: Adware Found

Hi, I have just downloaded ClamWin and run a scan, all my portable apps have been tagged to be infected.

eg.D:\Working\Portable Programs\GoogleChromePortable\GoogleChromePortable_32.0.1700.76_online.paf.exe:Win.Adware.Adgazelle-1 FOUND

Are they all false positives?

System: MSI netbook U230
Windows 7 64bit
250GB ssd

Amy help would be appreciated.

Thanks Jack

False Positive

The official release of Google Chrome Portable 32.0.1700.76 is indeed 100% clean as can be confirmed here: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/7020260e2028218357c8963ebfc72d957110d...

So, the official release is clean based on all available antivirus engines including their last update of ClamWin.

However, ClamWin's definitions from today show it as Win.Adware.Adgazelle. Note that this only affects today's update of ClamWin definitions. This is obviously a false positive as it can't have magically become infected today vs yesterday when it's been clean since January 16th when it was released.

I've submitted a false positive report to ClamAV. You can safely ignore the warning until they fix their error.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
