Jportable 64-bit for Win7 64-bit is rejected by Norton Antivirus as being infected

Hi,

Thanks for all the great work you do. Norton is rejecting the 64-bit version as being infected. The virus was referred to as "Suspicious.Cloud.9". The 32-bit version seems fine. Please advise.

Thanks,

BG

Official Version is 100% Clean, As Always

As always, you can check by uploading to Virus Total as indicated on our support page. As you can see, the official file is clean, including within Symantec: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/8544ab4674d417a3e7fa60d4850730bdb42ef...

I would suggest you compare your copy with the official one by checking the MD5 and ensuring it is 1e29391afc5b2b0101c05c846a45f913. If you update Norton's definitions and still have the issue and are sure it's the legit file from us, you can report the false positive to Norton and hope they fix it in the next update.

Norton has been very prone to false positives as of late. Notifications like Suspicious.Cloud.9 do not indicate the presence of a virus. They are Norton's idea of suspicious behavior and having Norton look for things of this nature will result in fairly regular false positive issues with it.

In the future, you can always check Virus Total for future questions. If it's only indicated in 1 or 2, it's a false positive and should be reported. In the 10 years we've been shipping software, Norton has made probably 100 mistakes of this nature.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
