Pidgin: Gaim crashes when

It seems that Gaim crashes when you send a message to someone on AIM when they are not on. If I have a window open for someone on aim and they sign off and I don't realize it and I send them a message. Gaim shuts down and gives me a crash error. It doesn't seem to happen with MSN or YIM, just AIM. Any clue as to what might be causing this.

I am running the newest P.apps and the newest Gaim that has been posted.

is anyone able to help me with this annoying crash?

and update to this, Now Gaim handles off-line messages and won't display them b/c Gaim crashes with those too. Is anyone else having this problem?

I am a newb. be gental.
