Help! I am running the PortableApps.com Platform version 12.01 on 64-bit Windows (browse here for the screenshot: http://snag.gy/HbmB4.jpg).
Often times when I try to exit the Portable Apps platform I get the warning message "The following Portable Apps are still running..." (browse here for the screenshot: http://snag.gy/X3Q1J.jpg). When this happens I cannot close the PortableApps.com Platform normally; I instead have to use Windows Task Manager to end the "PORTABLEAPPSPLATFORM.EXE *32" process manually.
This situation can happen even after the PortableApps.com Platform has started up and I then try to close it down without running a single application. By the way, I do have it set to check for updates on startup.
Did you for some reason rename the platform's EXE to be all caps?
Note that even if you did, the platform will check for this in 12.0.2 and handle it appropriately.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
No, I certainly did not rename any files. All I did was let the platform update itself.
Today, I let the the PortableApps.com platform update itself to v12.0.3, and so far the problem is no longer happening. I cannot provide a screenshot of the 12.0.1 installation (I didn't think to get one), but here is a screenshot of the executables from the v12.0.3 installation (the case of the executable's filename looks fine): http://snag.gy/vV9zW.jpg
I'm also running v12.0.1, and after renaming PortableAppsPlatform.exe to PORTABLEAPPSPLATFORM.EXE it
still doesn'tappears to only complain about itself when it was started byStart.exe
.Is it possible you're running a second exe called PORTABLEAPPSPLATFORM.EXE?~3D1T0R
That is a good point that I forgot to mention: I always start up the PortableApps.com Platform via the Start.exe executable: http://snag.gy/IT3yy.jpg
