Installing PortableAppsSuite over an other GUI

Hi,
I'am a first-time user of a U3-stick and I'am glad to say: It works very well!
I'm using an 'Intuix'-U3-usb-stick with its own menu.
When I plug in the stick, I see after some time an extra CD-Rom-drive and an
extra removable-drive-letter.
The extra CD-Rom-drive is 'write-protected' and contains the software that
controls the working of the U3-stick, so that I am able to open and work with
e.g. OpenOfficePortable from the stick. The removable-drive contains all my
documents and programs. (As You know.)

My questions are:
(1) Is it necessary and possible to replace SAFELY the original software from
the Intuix 'write-protected' CD-ROM-drive with the software PortableApppsuite,
so that I'll be able to work with the usb-stick as an U3-usb-stick further on?
(2) When I Install PortableAppsSuite to my U3-stick, will that replace safely
the software on the 'write-protected'-part of the stick?
And: (3) Is it possible to make an older normal usb-stick work like a
U3-usb-stick?

Thank You allready for the time to answer my questions.
R-L.

(1) Can't be done
(2) No it won't
(3) nope it's because u3 sticks have a special chip that makes them u3. so you can't put u3 on a regular stick

Actually
  1. Yes, it can be done. Try Gnu3izer or something.
  2. No
  3. To Clarify Zach's description: It is build into the actual drive, as part of the hardware
