Google Chrome- Crashes Every Time

As a loyal Firefox user, I had never though of switching browsers. But today I decided to give Google Chrome a try, portable version of course. So I installed it on my desktop (Windows XP SP3) and tried to run it but big surprise, I was greeted by a crash dialog box. Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. If you need additional PC specs or the technical details of of the error, let me know. Thanks in advance!

Fully Updated

Please be sure that you're PC has been fully updated. That means all patches post SP3 applied through April when XP was end-of-lifed. As well as the latest supported version of Internet Explorer installed and fully functional.

Fully Updated

My PC is fully updated. I made sure of that last time I had a problem.

IE

Are you using the most recent IE and is it fully functional? Did this PC have malware at some point previously? If so, it simply may not work. You can try temporarily installing the local version to see if it fixes any issues.

I am using Firefox Portable

I am using Firefox Portable installed locally but I have the latest version of IE. I actually had installed Google Chrome when I first go internet 2 or 3 years ago and it worked fine albeit very slowly. I'll try the local version and get back to you.

EDIT: Welp, I ran the installer and it said my computer does not meet the minimum system requirements. Darn.

Processor

It's likely due to an older processor. I think Chrome has a minimum processor requirement now. Unless you have a really tiny amount of RAM.

RAM...

Its my RAM. I only have 256MB. Why do computer parts have to cost so much?

Availability

Sadly, computer parts get more expensive as they become more rare. Unless you can find some older used ones. Buying an old and broken PC/laptop for parts on craigslist/classifieds to get RAM isn't a bad idea.
