I don't have a whole list, not tried all the apps yet, but GOOGLE CHROME won't update through the app. Says 'cannot connect to server', yet other apps do install. I tried downloading the v41.* beta, gets halfway through the install, then errors again, same thing. What's going on?

Apps like Google Chrome are online installers, so, in addition to downloading the base launcher and installer from here, they have to download the regular Google Chrome installer from Google to pull the actual app files from. It can't do that if it's unable to connect. Most likely you're either at a company/university behind a firewall that can't connect to Google to download Chrome due to policy or you're using a computer where Windows/Internet Explorer's internet options are misconfigured.

Actually its my laptop at home.. i have no issue downloading chromes installer from google and it installs just fine, just seems to be with the portable apps. ive tried versions 40 , 41, 11/12, etc..not sure the differences in the jump in numbers there. Not sure why the installers install but the portable versions stop halfway
