is there a reliable download manager that is proven to work with firefox portable?
because I click to save a webpage withing firefox portable, and I close that tab and at the end it doesn't save it!!!!
why?

I use DownThemAll, it works great.
Have you tried the ScrapBook extension yet? Its focus is saving and managing pages & sets of pages. (Purely for downloading [links] however, nothing beats DownThemAll!.)
