Hi. I'm trying to install Gimp Portable, but each time I try to load it, it stalls at the same point, when the splash screen indicates it's looking for fonts.
This is version 2.8.14, which I downloaded from SourceForge today. On Windows 8.1

Running gimp will take some time Up to five minutes to scan for fonts

It varies quite a bit based on two things. First, how many fonts are installed on the local computer, as it needs to analyze and cache every single one of them on startup. Second, how fast your drive is, as the cache for the fonts is saved to the drive.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
