I see someone else already requested this app, and now the topic is closed. After Thunderbird and Firefox, Quicken is my most used app.
I have two systems that I move a disk between, and I have to backup and restore Quicken in order to get it to work correctly on both systems. Just opening the same data file on another system doesn't do the job.
This is a real bother, and I would love a portable Quicken. The earlier topic mentioned troubles connecting to websites to download transactions. This has not been an issue for me. Once the restore is complete, everything (and I mean everything; I use just about every function provided) works perfectly.
Clearly this is not free or open source software. My suspicion is that, like many other apps, it keeps some configuration data on the local C: drive, making a portability rebuid necessary but probably not really difficult.
