Hi All:
I was installing a couple of extensions to LibreOffice Calc today and noticed that many of the ones listed were tagged as not having been updated in over a year, On others there was no stable release, and in still others I got a pop up on installing that said that I needed to reconfigure or select an installed Java version, which I did.
On the LibreOffice forum there were posts about using Open Office extensions and using older or not stable extensions. The bottom line was that you probably wouldn't hose your LibreOffice installation, but then again you might, especially for some of the larger sized extensions such as language tools (?). I installed an extension that killed the boot process in Calc, but fortunately I had the option of removing it.
So, after this windup I'll deliver the pitch. Can someone please publish an annotated list of LibreOffice extensions color coded into good, maybe good but won't hose your system, and use at your own risk (green, yellow and red)? The extensions close gaps between MS Office and LibreOffice and are really useful when they work. But their number and updates seem to be slowing down.
I appreciate any feedback and information on this issue.
T hanks.

I'd suggest that this would be better handled by the LibreOffice community than the PortableApps.com community. There are more LibreOffice users and far more developers in the former than in our own community. I use LibreOffice almost exclusively as an office suite but I've never used an extension for it.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I believe you are right John. I also use LibreOffice a lot. I've recently found that some of their extensions can be really useful. Particularly for Writer and Calc. Still, they need to save more time than they consume. I'll ask them on their site and if anything really interesting comes up I'll report it here.
Thanks again.
