Many of us have friends in different countries. An application that can take text in English and translate it into some common languages would probably be a welcome addition to portable apps. We could start with European Languages such as French, Spanish, German, Italian and English. Being able to translate both ways in these languages would enable personal communication if not business communication amongst people with different native tongues.

Any downloadable translation utility would likely pale in comparison to Google Translate which is easily accessible through any portable browser: https://translate.google.com/

I wasn't aware that Google Translate was so readily available. I suspect that there is a limit on the size of the document it can translate, but it will do for most of what I am thinking about translating.
