I worked out a theme that I call "Wonders of Nature". I designed it for those who are concerned about space on their drive. you can get it from (and view it from):

Agreed. I don't really care for that green block (hurts my eyes).
I don't care for the blue clouds either- seems like you've got so much going on with the other parts, that should have more happening.
Everything else is good, though- I espicially like the space portion.

Ive made a PSD template you can use to make your own, ill post it later.
You just go into each element and change the color, or for the gradients you change the colors.
ITs difficult to change the layout too much as it still needs to fit within the design of PA. So all you can really change is the background.

Fully re-created but some subtle diferences, dont want to be too exact. Change it how you wish. The colors are all gradient overlays so just edit the color markers to whatever you want. Ive made a nice lime green one for my company but i wont post that here, might make you vom

These are nice, but too busy and draws attention.
I much prefer a clean, sleek look that is very inconspicious as
not to draw attention to it. Nothing I hate more than being at a remote
computer and have people go "Oh look at that! that's so cool!"

Its not as simple as the other ones (not only 1 colour), but its not too distractiv either.

I've made an attempt at a vista style theme. It's not perfect due to limitations as the portable apps logo interferes with it. http://me801.uni.cc/portable and scroll to the bottom.
So far I have created a Windows XP, Samurai panda, and a World of Warcraft theme.

I have updated the WOW theme with icons.
I'm working on updating the Heavy Equipment skin suite along with some other people. If you aren't familiar with it, it was a skin suite done by many members of the skinning community in 2000. The Community Skin project brought 20+ members of the skinning community together to make suites of skins. The first was Heavy Equipment, which remains the largest suite ever assembled.
A few people have now started updating those skins to modern versions of the apps and making ports of it to apps that weren't around back then.
I just discovered PortableApps and decided to make a Heavy Equipment theme for it. I am mostly done with what I can do currently, but am hoping that more can be added to the skinning engine of PortableApps before I release the theme. Like making the menu items multi-state buttons, etc...

Did you get permission from Chaninja to release this port?
No - it's in the readme, but I emailed asking permission and linking to this page to explain what I proposed to do.... and waited.... two weeks went by with no response. I ported it anyway, included in the readme that if Chaninja found it and wanted me to remove it I would. After your question thought I should send another notice letting him/her know I did..... Still no answer....
I don't get a bounceback, so I don't know if s/he doesn't care, doesn't check the email account, is dead, or just forwarded my last email to the lawyers who will be contacting me soon...

Hi I'm working on a Suikoden Theme, but I forgot that the apps fonts came in black, and I was wondering if there anyone how know how to change the font color or another way to highlight the font.

OK so how do you apply the new themes? I downloaded some but cannot find where to put them in folders?
Theme support in PAM is still in beta, currently there is no support for putting the themes into folders.
Make a backup of the current them, then overwrite it with the one you want.

I love defaults, but i want to make someones from 0, its a hard work, but i think I'll can make it, I just haven't ideas
I think that the PAM is a great start in the right direction...but I think it would be a great idea to have the following:
1. tabs so we can organize our apps into catigories...such as programs, office, tools and games.
2. to have a scroll bar so we don't have to constantly tap when you are using a laptop without a mouse....just a thought.....
3. have the menu bar not disappear when you choose an app but to have it constantly open on the desktop...this would save us one extra click and we wouldn't have to constantly open it to access an application(s)

have the latest beta version (PortableApps Menu 1.0.2 Beta 3 (Pre-Release 2)) from here?
The theme/localisation stuff only works with this beta.
Just download and copy it right over the old menu and say "yes" to all "file already exists! Replace "yes" or "no"?"-questions.

This is my first theme to include wallpaper so tell me what you think.
The wallpaper is 1680x1050, for best results your screen should match.

Also I did a little searching PaintShop Pro 8.0 and up should be able to open .psd's

I use paint shop pro so I'm not sure how it would work with photoshop. If you like to try it, it's back up along with my theme's. Very bottom for the template.

Opening in Photoshop 7, and I had the file type set to "All Files" and it's not working for me. Does anybody else out there have a theme for the PAM for Photoshop, or can you tell me how to get the PaintShop Pro one to work on Photoshop 7? Thanks.

Ok... guess I'm the only one still using PSP... Was rewriting the template in GIMP and found out it as will as PSP can translate to Photoshop. Just up loaded the zip with all three files, PSP, PSD, and XCF formats.

GIMP.. xcf file.

I don't have to worry about colouring in the lines! Haha, thanks. Umm, just couple last questions...I figured out, I save the background as JPEG, and the Background_Top as BMP, as well as the drive space slider, only thing is, for the Background_Top, I'm just using my theme but as a BMP image, and keeping the existing Drive_Space_Slider from my old theme. So what am I sopposed to do in the way of saving three different parts?
The menu uses all three parts, so they need to be in the theme folder. However, if you don't plan on changing the colors or editing them, then you don't need to do anything other then to be sure they are in the theme folder. Also all three images have to be named the same as what came with the menu. I didn't change the 'Background_Top.bmp' until my dark theme, the white was just to much. Also once you flatten your layers down and saved as a Jpeg, use this color on the top round edge to make it transparent, same with the background_top #FF00FF It's the one color within the program that's render as transparent.

DaveWest, I love PSP, does like 90% of Photoshop, and cost like 90% cheaper, loads easier to learn too.

I have been playing around with a Star Trek like theme. The hardest part was the icons. I did not know that many icons are multi-layered. I used GIMP Portable to create everything. I am not going to post the entire theme as I have used some borrowed elements. I also had to lighten up the "official" colors for usability. I am still tweaking the background. Trying to clean it up.
