It's best to check the support page before posting in the forums.

When I click on the link to

When I click on the link to install the Flash extension, first I get the yellow security bar, then I add portableapps.com to my list of sites allowed to install - then I go back and click the link again and -- nothing happens at all.

Do you see a progress bar

as it is installing as an extension in the extensions window and then it disappears?

This happens with the Google

This happens with the Google toolbar also. Best solution is to close Firefox and reopen it after you've added the site to your allowed sites. However, if you want your Flash plugin to be portable, you have to do an extra step, or it only installs it locally. If you want a portable Flash, you have to find npswf32.dll on your computer (after installing the plugin) and copy it to the plugins directory of PFF.

A little utility

I developed a little utility, MozRegKey, that creates and deletes the requested key on the registry to use the plugin's installer.

See here for here for more info.

can't run a install program

Ok I’ll admit it I usually don’t do all my homework but I really have spent some time on this one. When I installed Flash 6 in my portable FF I copied npswf32.dll to the plug-in folder and everything works great. I now need to update to a minimum of Flash 7 and can not find a single file that can just be copied. My setup will not allow me to run any install software so I need to find another way to get things to work. Any ideas?

I too am unable to get

I too am unable to get Portable Firefox working with the flash player. The instructions at https://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable#plugins fails.

I am using Portable Firefox S3 Edition. The firefox version is 1.5.0.6.

If you follow the FAQ instructions, after you click on "install now" button the extensions window will open, and you will get the error:

"Firefox could not install the file at: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/xpi/current/flashplayer... because download error."

I have also tried installing the flash player from an alternative download site.

In addition, I have downloaded manually the flashplayer-win.xpi locally to my USB drive L:\flashplayer-win.xpi. When you open file, after you click on "install now" button the extensions window opens, the .xpi begins to install, then just disappears from the extensions window with no error message.

I have also attempted to try to use the the MozRegKey-0.4.zip application as described in https://portableapps.com/node/541 -- however, this fails also (see that thread for my notes how it fails using that tool).

Any other suggestions on how to install the flash player into Portable Firefox?

Well

for one, you need to save it to your hard-disk/flash-drive/whatever because of a bug with extensions and having no cache.
If it disappears, this may be what is supposed to happen because it's a plug-in really.

Can't install Falsh Plug-in....

I'm having no luck installing the Flash Player. I'm on a machine without Admin privileges, I just downloaded the Portable Firefox, and the flash xpi, but I can't do anything with the xpi - I can't open it, I'm not sure what to do with it and the FAQ isn't any help at all because I'm sitting with this xpi file and I cant do anything with it. Flash is installed on this machine, though, becase IE can play Flash movies. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

***Update -- I just copied the dll from the machine into the portable firefox plugins folder and I can now play flash movies, is this all I needed to do, though? Thanks (again).

....No comment....
