I've read the request guidelines and from what I've seen, it does put down some things into system32 that is needed to run, but the log file shows the paths.
But it's free. I've contacted them but to no avail this isn't making itself into a portable app easily
Yeah that's a little a rough. I found 14 dll's and ocx's it relies on so far...

Remember free does not automatically mean open source.

True... but in the e-mail exchange they actually listed what dll's they were using to me, even showed me where the log that pointed to the other files I might have missed were located.
They've been "helping" but I'm not sure how that would have been considered "altered". Thanks though... thought this one was going to be a pain.
Perhaps I'll get Netstumbler instead.
If you get permission from them that is another thing.

hmmm. thanks for the pointer. have yet to ask that.
(me)"Would you give permission to Portableapps.com to make this into a Portable app for use on an USB stick?"
(them)"Yes, as long as the landing page (the webpage that launches when they make a wifi connection) doesn't change,
But technically I don't think it's possible. Do you?

I can give e-mail addresses and full e-mails if that would make a difference. I've forwarded this forum link to them as well.
you upload the .EML so that we can read it?
Still, I don't reckon it will be easy.
