There's an upgrade for Miranda IM Portable coming out tomorrow. AOL and MSN (I think) changed their networks and broke Miranda's ability to IM.

that upgrade to Miranda IM Portable?
I tried just replacing the DLL, didn't work for me - most likely user error. Ended up just running AIM Express for the time being... but it's been a couple of weeks now
if you want to upgrade miranda to a newer version, upgrade all files!
because all plugins in the miranda-packages are based on the newest miranda.exe and may crash with an older version
