there are no icons in the download manager

there are no icons in the download manager

When I download something I cannot see it in the download manager though a pop-up says the download is complete.

In about:config,

you can specify "browser.download.manager.showAlertOnComplete" and set it to "true"
I don't know whether there is a simper way of doing this.
