Hi:
I've installed Inkscape and Ghostscript (both in portable versions) in a USB drive and I would like to know how can I link them in order to be able to open EPS with Inkscape.
Thanks in advance

As long as you install them in the proper location and are using the latest versions of each, it's automatic. By proper location, that means:
X:\PortableApps\InkscapePortable
X:\PortableApps\CommonFiles\Ghostscript
Note that X:\PortableApps can be replaced with another directory, but is recommended.

Thanks!
Hello, I'm having this same issue, I can't open eps files with inkscape.
I'm running windows 7 SP1 x64, I have verified that all required files are in place and that the paths are correct.
H:\PortableApps\CommonFiles\Ghostscript\bin
H:\PortableApps\CommonFiles\Ghostscript\lib
H:\PortableApps\InkscapePortable
I have been using portableapps for a long time so I decided to download a fresh copy of the launcher, ghostscript, and inkscape. Installed under the root of C:\ for my testing. Same thing happens. I get an error "Failed to load the requested file".
I know the files are ok because when I had ghostscript and inkscape installed on the machine they worked.
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I also just tested my drive on an older xp machine
windows XP SP2 x32
and the same thing, it doesn't find the Ghostscript

There have been no changes to Ghostscript since June. And no changes to Inkscape since Feb 2015. When did it stop working for you? Does it work with the previous version of Ghostscript (available from our SourceForge project)?

I think I need to clarify a little. I have been trying to move away from installed programs on my work computer. So, I was using the install version of inkscape and the install version of ghostscript on my work computer with the windows environmental path set for ghostscript. Everything was working that way. With that being said, I can't say that I have ever really tried using the portable version for opening eps file until today.
I just tried with each of the ghostscript installs going back to 9.14, same issue.
I will try at home on my windows 10 machine and see what happens there.

Hello, I tested it at home on my windows 10, 64 bit using my flash drive version and it doesn't work there as well.
Is Inkscape Portable switch between both 32 & 64 bit based on the OS? If Inkscape is 32 bit, could it be getting confused which Ghostscript to use? and that is why Inkscape doesn't see it. I guess that doesn't make sense either, I tried it on a 32 bit XP machine.
I don't know, any thoughts would be great.

Could it be done for LyX portable as well?
It would be great addition.
