I tried CamStudio to capture videos, but did not manage to get it to work (wrong file-extension WAV for Video, no sound and error waveoutcontrol not found, video only some frames).
It looks as this is not compatible with Win7/32. Any idea?

I just tested it on Windows 7 x64 and it worked. I used the Microsoft Video compressor. Be sure you pick a compressor in the video options that works on your system.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
