Hello,
I have installed www.portableapps.com suite on MANY* USB drives without incident, including different SanDisk models. I love the suite and recommend it to everybody I meet.
However, I just purchased a number of the Cruzer Mini 4GB drives and after installing the PortableApps Suite I get the following error box when I attempt to start the suite:
16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
D:\STARTP~1.EXE
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
SanDisk Cruzer Mini 4gb PortableApps Error 01
SanDisk Cruzer Mini 4gb PortableApps Error 02
SanDisk Cruzer Mini 4gb PortableApps Error 03
SanDisk Cruzer Mini 4gb PortableApps Error 04
SanDisk Cruzer Mini 4gb PortableApps Error 05
SanDisk Cruzer Mini 4gb PortableApps Error 06
I would really be grateful for any help that can be provided. The machine I am using to install the suite is a Windows XP home with all the latest patches and has been scanned for viruses. I do not believe I have any malware on the machine.
Thank you,
Clinton Meyer
I would low level format the thumb drives by using either kill disk or dban.....you can Google them and see if that doesn't help your situation. You also may want to try to format them in NTFS instead of FAT32.....

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried it and got the base suite to load along with the Lite version.
However... OO.org is a necessity, not an option and this application won't work.
I'm at a loss and believe this equipment is junk.
Of course I am open to and grateful for any more ideas.
