Hi, something seems to be wrong with Firefox Portable 38.0.5 (at least with the Dutch version?). It immediatly quits after startup.

Tried downloading (English version) . It appears to attempt the download 2 times and then displays the following msg. Summary of msg follows.
"downloaded copy of Firefox portable 38.0.5 is not valid and and cannot be installed. Could be an incomplete download or network issue." Is this similar to the problem you encountered? I made several attempts and each time it fails this way.
Same issue for me with English
same issue with dutch version
Ditto, if it is not someone spoofing, John and his team will rectify it, lets be patient and give them time.
Meanwhile, keep running 38.0.1 or whatever, with all your security in place.
Eg. AVG and/or Malwarebytes and immunize with MB or Spybot. Probably just a small glitch, its just from the posts' here that people
want to be assured that it isn't on their end.
They never let us down yet.
Yeah, that's just what happened at the PortablesApps update. Then I downloaded and ran the installer and trange enough it did not display "updating Firefox", as it should; instead it said "installing Firefox". After the install, Firefox wasn't working anymore, quitting right after startup.
Michael.
Hello,
exactly the same here with the German Version of Firefox Portable 38.0.5.
I have tried it at home and also at work (I have the PortableApps Platform on my HDD at home and on my HDD at work, so the problem occurs on two different locations).
Greetings
OLLI
This may be related. I've downloaded the English version twice and the hash doesn't match your posted hash. I get 366adca3f9e7def205951623861842ef rather than 0c04559bbf2beb553985dfa3a18fb39f. I haven't tried to install it.
full update seems to work, incremental update via updaterdoesn´t work

Had to download firefox portable from website, and install it from there.
Yeah, you could get it [the .exe.paf] from there or some trusted place like sourceforge or majorgeeks,
http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/mozilla_firefox_portable_20_1.html
but I'd wait until this hiccup is solved, y'know...keepin' the faith.
MajorGeeks is not an official place to download from. We do not officially release via there. We do not upload the files to their servers.

I inadvertently pushed the hash sums for today's Firefox beta release into last night's Firefox stable release, so it was wrong for all languages. It's been fixed. Sorry for the issue.

It is working now. Thanks for the prompt service. Made a donation.
Hello John, I've downloaded and installed Ff once more, but still it quits immediately after startup...
Michael.
I've confirmed that Firefox Portable 38.0.5 Dutch works fine, so there's something wrong with your specific setup. Since this topic was taken over due to the MD5 mismatch, please create a new forum post and include version, language, etc of Firefox Portable, new vs upgrade, if you tried a clean install elsewhere, full path, any extensions you use, whether you tried starting in safe mode ( FirefoxPortable.exe -safe-mode )

Hello John,
it is working now, thank you!
